Is it possible to install the PlayStation 3 OS on a PC?

I know you can install Linux onto a PS3 and then you can even create a virtual machine and install Win XP onto PS3 But is it posible to install PS3 OS onto a PC

No, the PS3 OS is called "Xcross Media Bar" or XMB for short.

It is made by Sony, so until they give out PS3 OS on disc, it is impossible as the PS3 is WAY too hard to hack

gamingforever Remember when Sony removed the OtherOS feature from the PlayStation 3? Yeah, things turned pretty ugly. Sony stated that the removal was due to "security concerns" after hacker George Hotz found a way to open up the console via Linux. OtherOS was taken down with a firmware update that released on April 1, 2010. Sony was later taken to court over the matter.

smash I was wondering why everyone's was light green... I originally thought it was based on the Time Zone. However, I was wrong! It actually changes monthly. Here're the colors. (with photos)
