Has Apple dropped prices on their Ipod every Christmas?

Im thinking of getting someone an ipod touch. Its a little expansive right now...but I'm hoping they will offer discount for the holidays. Has Apple lowered prices on different Ipod models before on Christmas?

I think this is the first year of iPod discounts usually only macs get price drops
