How do you shut an iPod mini off?

I have an iPod mini and i don't know how to turn it off! I have tried pushing the menu button but it never works! >:(

press and hold the PLAY button for several seconds and it should turn off!!

cliffosakajapan Firstly, I thought journalists were suppose to reveal their affiliations with any product if such an affiliation exists. Microsoft owns a stake in NBC ie MSNBC. Second, all the side by side product comparisons showed an older iPod mini and 4th Gen iPods with monochrome screens with no song selected or playing, while the Zune was playing a video.
